The Scientific Method
The scientific method is a way to ask and answer scientific questions by making observations and doing experiments. It consists of six simple steps:
- Ask a question or identify the problem you would like to solve.
- Make observations and do research about your topic.
- Form a hypothesis.
- Design an experiment and test your hypothesis.
- Analyze your data.
- Draw a conclusion.
If the conclusion does not support the hypothesis, a new hypothesis can be formed and tested. The scientific method can be used by anyone to answer questions about the world around them. By following its six simple steps, anyone can become a scientist and discover new things about the world around them.
